Spero Health Opens 2nd Indiana Location in Jeffersonville

Brentwood, Tenn. – Spero Health, a CARF-accredited organization and leader in outpatient addiction treatment, has announced the expansion of its integrated care recovery and medical services with the launch of the company’s 22nd clinic. The Jeffersonville Spero Health Clinic located at 1820 East 10th Street opened February 4th to start seeing new patients. Dr. Philip D. Hill has joined the organization as the lead physician at this clinic. He has a long history of providing treatment for substance use disorders in the area, and shares Spero’s philosophy of an integrated approach to treatment of this patient population.

Spero Health’s mission is to “Save Lives, Instill Hope and Restore Relationships.” Its integrated approach uniquely combines both physical and behavioral healthcare services under one roof to treat the whole patient. This approach incorporates physician office visits, behavioral health counseling, recovery support services and patient and family education. Spero Health provides local and affordable care for more than 5,300 fellow human beings throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. Opening a 2nd clinic in Indiana is in line with the continued goal to help communities that have been hit hard by the opioid epidemic.

“The numbers of individuals who die as a result of suffering from substance use disorders every year continues to worsen, and it is critical that our communities have access to local, high quality care.”  said Steve Priest, CEO. “Our team is not only focused on saving lives, but also on helping strengthen the communities that we serve. It is our desire to be an active member of the local healthcare community and a partner in the fight against this deadly disease.”

In the last decade more than 650,000 people have died from a drug overdose. 70% of more than 70,000 deaths in 2017 involved an opioid according to the Center for Disease Control.

“Substance use disorders are treatable but there isn’t a one-size fits all solution, which is why Spero Health considers each unique patient need when developing treatment plans,” said David Hayden, LCADC, VP of Clinical Services. “Our approach is designed to provide rapid access to care and allow individuals to remain in their communities throughout treatment so they can continue working and caring for their families, which ultimately enhances their quality of life.”

Spero Health participates with Indiana Medicaid and is currently accepting new patients from select commercial insurance plans. “We look forward to be a community healthcare partner in Jeffersonville so that individuals and their families have a place to turn for help, for hope and for healing,” said Priest.

The Jeffersonville location currently has several job openings. Spero Health is seeking qualified counselors, social workers and physicians for the new location. Applicants can view a list of job openings at https://staging.sperohealth.com/careers/.
